After breakfast you head out on a city tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide Memorial site a grim reminder of a senseless massacre of innocent lives in 1994. After an early breakfast at 6:30am you will head to RDB offices for briefing on your gorilla trekking that starts at 07:00am. Volcanoes National park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range home of the rare Mountain Gorillas and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, pen grassland, swamp ad heath. You may spot a wide variety of birdlife, but the highlight of your trek will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas. You will be an hour with these wonderful creatures before returning to the lodge for lunch. Remember you will be racking through tough terrain and good footwear is very important. This day you will have an early morning breakfast before you head out on the Golden Monkey trek. Trekking Golden Monkey's and Gorillas is a similar experience - in a small group of no more than eight people and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them. The endangered species are very active creatures, ad jump from tree to tree which is very interesting and a little difficult to photograph. After the trek you will transfer to the lodge for lunch and then transfer back to to Kigali where you connect with your flight back home (B,L) The transfer to Kigali will take approximately 2.5 hours getting back to Kigali around 4pm . It is possible to connect with an evening flight today.
